Happy National Root Beer Float Day!!! August 6th every year. What a perfect holiday to celebrate right now-in August, in “The Dog Days of Summer.”
It is hot out there, and if you live pretty much anywhere on the East Coast of the US Hurricane/Tropical Storm Isaias might have passed you by and left you without electricity. B lost hers and we have been shifting around all her frozen items. If that’s the case before the vanilla ice cream melts make a delicious root beer float. Or any kind of float for that matter. The traditional is of course, put a few scoops of vanilla ice cream into a sundae dish or tall glass, pour over some icy root beer, add a dollop of whip cream and a cherry on top. Voila!!! What could be more delicious to chase those after hurricane, clean up blues away? Floats can be made with any kind of soda, cream, grape, orange, or ice cream, chocolate, butter pecan. MMMMMmmm Butter Pecan with with cream soda. That sounds yummy. The possibilities are endless. I hope y’all are safe and cozy out there. Try to stay cool with a Root Beer Float. Put a little sparkle into your day. Many holiday blessings from the holidaychicks.com. -Monika
